About the Role

Support the risk oversight, governance, and control framework across electronic trading and digital asset activities. Partner with Front Office, Technology, and Control Functions to identify emerging risks, assess controls, and strengthen risk management across trading products, algorithms, and new technologies. Leverage data analytics, automation, and technical solutions to enhance risk monitoring, reporting, and strategy. Provide effective challenge to senior stakeholders while helping drive scalable and innovative approaches to risk governance.

Responsibilities

  • Set the risk appetite for the Trading portfolio and actively calibrate and monitor limits.
  • Collect and analyze market data from various sources, ensuring risk is correctly captured, modeled, and capitalized.
  • Escalate critical risk issues or breaches to Traders and senior Risk Management Leadership teams for timely action.
  • Review and provide feedback on market risk models, including change governance.
  • Perform internal, regulatory, and scenario stress testing for the Trading portfolio.
  • Steer and execute projects of market risk-wide significance (e.g., FRTB, One Risk).
  • Advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and take responsibility for operational effectiveness.
  • Collaborate closely with other functions/business divisions.
  • Lead a team performing complex tasks, using well-developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver work impacting the entire business function.
  • Set objectives, coach employees, appraise performance, and determine reward outcomes.
  • Lead collaborative assignments and guide team members through structured assignments.
  • Identify the need for inclusion of other areas of specialization to complete assignments.
  • Identify new directions for assignments and/or projects, utilizing cross-functional methodologies or practices.
  • Consult on complex issues, providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies/procedures to support the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls related to work performed.
  • Perform work closely related to other areas, understanding how areas coordinate and contribute to organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate with other work areas and business-aligned support areas to stay updated on business activity and strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple internal and external sources to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicate complex information, including sensitive or difficult-to-communicate content.
  • Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

Requirements

  • Experience in market risk, electronic trading risk, operational risk, risk governance, or similar second-line risk functions.
  • Understanding of electronic and algorithmic trading controls and risk management frameworks.
  • Ability to analyze complex datasets and develop risk reporting, dashboards, and management information.
  • Stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills, including engagement with senior leadership.
  • Knowledge of digital assets, algorithmic trading, data governance, or associated regulatory requirements preferred.
  • Risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, and job-specific technical skills will be assessed.
