About the Role

The VP role leads the Pay Someone proposition, owning the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of a key Barclays payment experience. This role defines the future vision for payments, aligns investment to priorities, and leads cross-functional teams to achieve measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop existing and new products and/or services.
  • Develop product strategy and drive change through execution teams.
  • Make key decisions in the product lifecycle and own associated outcomes.
  • Develop customer-level strategies and solutions tailored to customer needs.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert in the applicable Product/Proposition team.
  • Develop product propositions and/or service strategy.
  • Define priorities for delivering strategy outcomes and lead execution.
  • Develop different commercial and business models by understanding financial drivers.
  • Evaluate technical feasibility, legal compliance, and potential risks of new products.
  • Monitor market trends and analyze feedback to identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage comprehensive launch plans and technical deployments.
  • Monitor key metrics such as adoption rates, usage patterns, customer satisfaction, and revenue generation.
  • Contribute or set strategy, drive requirements, and make recommendations for change.
  • Plan resources, budgets, and policies.
  • Manage and maintain policies/processes.
  • Deliver continuous improvements and escalate breaches of policies/procedures.
  • Define jobs and responsibilities, plan for department's future needs and operations.
  • Counsel employees on performance and contribute to employee pay decisions/changes.
  • Lead specialists to influence department operations in alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Balance short and long-term goals and ensure budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors to create an environment for colleagues to thrive.
  • Act as a subject matter expert within own discipline and guide technical direction.
  • Lead collaborative, multi-year assignments and guide team members.
  • Identify the need for inclusion of other areas of specialisation.
  • Train, guide, and coach less experienced specialists.
  • Provide information affecting long-term profits, organisational risks, and strategic decisions.
  • Advise key stakeholders on functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment.
  • Manage and mitigate risks through assessment.
  • Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of organisation functions to achieve business goals.
  • Collaborate with other areas for business-aligned support.
