About the Role

This position is for a Process Engineer in the Implant Department that will support process capabilities of ion implantation equipment. You will be part of a team that focuses on maintaining basic condition on state-of-the-art high current, medium current, and high energy implanters while driving improvements related to quality, efficiency, defect reduction, and cost of ownership. We prioritize safety, learning, and having fun while maintaining world class operations 24/7.

Responsibilities

  • Practice 6S in the office and fab, holding safety as the number 1 priority and looking for opportunities to reduce safety risks.
  • Assist technicians with daily workload and sustaining activities, including disposition of at-risk material to minimize wafer loss while ensuring product quality.
  • Develop and schedule recovery plans for abnormalities and long tool downs, assisting Shift Supervisors in prioritizing work.
  • Document daily tool activities and ensure learning is captured and spread across the organization.
  • Follow, improve, and develop work documents such as SOPs, recovery plans, and troubleshooting guides to drive operational efficiency.
  • Maintain all required trainings and certifications.
  • Manage and collaborate with vendor support, aligning goals, developing trust, coordinating schedules, and developing system improvements.
  • Develop project ideas for cost reduction, particle reduction, tool down time reduction, part lifetime extension, and efficiency improvements.
  • Interact and collaborate with other departments on projects related to device performance, process abnormalities, and excursion risk mitigation.
  • Utilize Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) concepts and LEAN tools to implement systematic solutions.
  • Manage process qualifications for new devices and tool installs.
  • Manage and standardize tool sensors across similar toolsets.
  • Analyze alarms/interlocks data to identify mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues.
  • Support manufacturing throughput goals by controlling run-paths and releasing tool recipes to optimize tool efficiency.
  • Willingness to work in a 24/7 high volume manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering or related field of study.
  • 5+ years of semi-conductor experience highly desired with knowledge of Implant or Anneal processes and equipment preferred.
  • 300mm Implant/Anneal Experience highly desired.
  • Familiarity with AMAT VIISta HCP, AMAT VIISta Trident, NISSIN Exceed3000AH/EVO2, Axcelis ParadigmXE preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to network and find impactful solutions to complex problems.
  • Understanding of Lean Principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications, maintenance manuals, and familiarity with precision measuring instruments.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume manufacturing cleanroom environment in full cleanroom protective clothing for short and long periods of time.
