About the Role

This position is for a Diffusion/Implant Chamber Equipment Engineer that will support RTP and DPN chambers on AMAT Vantage and Centura Platforms. The role focuses on maintaining basic condition and stable processing of state-of-the-art anneal chambers while driving improvements related to quality, efficiency, defect reduction, and cost of ownership. Safety, learning, and fun are prioritized while maintaining world-class operations 24/7.

Responsibilities

• Practice 6S in the office and fab, prioritizing safety and identifying opportunities to reduce risks.
• Assist technicians with daily workload and sustaining activities, including direct participation in tool maintenance.
• Develop and schedule recovery plans for abnormalities and long tool downs, assisting Shift Supervisors in prioritizing work.
• Document daily tool activities and ensure learning is captured and shared across the organization.
• Follow, improve, and develop work documents such as SOPs, recovery plans, and troubleshooting guides to drive operational efficiency.
• Maintain all required trainings, certifications, and medical monitoring.
• Manage and collaborate with vendor support, aligning goals and developing system improvements.
• Develop project ideas and own the spread of Best Known Methods for cost reduction, particle reduction, downtime reduction, part lifetime extension, and efficiency improvements.
• Interact and collaborate with other departments on projects related to device performance, process abnormalities, and excursion risk mitigation.
• Utilize Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) concepts and LEAN tools for systematic solutions.
• Manage process qualifications for new devices and tool installs.
• Manage and standardize tool sensors across similar toolsets.
• Analyze alarms/interlocks data to identify mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues.
• Support manufacturing throughput goals by controlling run-paths and releasing tool recipes to optimize tool efficiency.
• Willingness to work in a 24/7 dynamic high-volume manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• BS degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering or related field of study.
• 5+ years of semi-conductor experience highly desired with knowledge of Anneal chambers preferred.
• 300mm Diffusion/Implant Anneal Experience highly desired.
• Familiarity with AMAT Centura and Vantage platforms and RF Systems preferred.
• Experience with 300mm RTP and DPN equipment management highly desired.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude highly desired.
• Ability to network and find impactful solutions to complex problems.
• Ability to use many different systems to analyze data and drive engineering decisions.
• Understanding of Lean Principles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications, maintenance manuals, and use precision measuring instruments.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift items up to 50lbs.
• Ability to work in a high-volume manufacturing cleanroom environment in full cleanroom protective clothing for long periods.
