About the Role
This role drives the success of the commercial banking segment through market analysis, product development, sales and relationship management, risk management, and performance.
Responsibilities
- Execute market research to understand the competitive landscape, identify market trends and opportunities, and develop strategies to capture market share within the commercial banking segment.
- Develop appropriate pricing models for different products and services, ensuring profitability while remaining competitive.
- Develop, implement, and manage innovative financial solutions, services, and products aligned with bank objectives for the commercial banking segment.
- Identify and forge strategic partnerships with other financial institutions, technology providers, or industry experts.
- Manage key stakeholder relationships within target companies to understand their needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Develop and implement sales strategies, including establishing sales targets and identifying sales channels.
- Monitor key metrics such as new client acquisition, loan volume, revenue generation, and market share to assess segment performance.
- Lead the design and execution of initiatives to improve Retail Banking performance, productivity, and long-term efficiency.
- Oversee operating model design, workforce strategy, organizational change, transformation delivery, and cost optimization.
- Define and implement Retail Banking wide target operating models across customer-facing, operational, and head office functions.
- Design future-state processes, governance, accountabilities, and operating rhythms.
- Improve efficiency, control, and service outcomes through structural and process redesign.
- Design future workforce models aligned with business strategy and financial objectives.
- Lead organizational redesign, workforce change programs, and location strategy initiatives.
- Partner with HR, Learning, and business leaders to identify future skills needs and monitor capability maturity.
- Define capability roadmaps and workforce transition plans, including data, AI, digital, and transformation capabilities.
- Lead upskilling and talent development programs to build a future-ready workforce.
- Assess capability requirements, organizational spans and layers, sourcing models, and offshoring opportunities.
- Create implementation plans that balance commercial outcomes, colleague experience, and operational resilience.
- Lead complex cross-functional transformation programs from design through implementation.
- Establish governance, prioritization, and execution frameworks to support delivery.
- Manage interdependencies across business, operations, technology, and control functions.
- Ensure benefits realization, adoption, and long-term sustainability of delivered change.
- Develop and lead Retail Banking’s efficiency and productivity agenda.
- Identify, prioritize, and execute opportunities to improve productivity, simplify operations, and reduce cost.
- Establish benefits frameworks, performance tracking, and governance to ensure savings are delivered and sustained.
- Drive adoption of automation, AI, and process simplification opportunities.
- Partner with Business Management, Finance, HR, and business leaders to shape medium and long-term cost strategies.
- Support leadership teams through significant organizational transformation activity.
