About the Role
Sanford Health is seeking a BE/BC General Psychiatrist to join their Virtual Hospital group. This role involves covering real-time ER needs, patient rounding, and consulting on medical floors during weekends. The psychiatrist will provide general psychiatry services for all ages.
Responsibilities
- Cover real-time ER needs in both a tertiary center and rural critical access hospitals
- Patient rounding on behavioral health units and consulting on medical floors during the weekend
- General Psychiatry (see all ages)
- Perform history and physical examination
- Admit (if applicable to the setting)
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients above the age of 12 who suffer from mental, behavioral, addictive, or emotional disorders
Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. degree
- Successful completion of a hospital affiliated Psychiatry residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada
- Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/ subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable
- Must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement
- Candidate will need to obtain IA, MN, ND, and SD medical licenses and obtain privileges supporting the enterprise

- $75,000 retention incentive (pro-rated based on FTE, forgiven over three years for full-time positions)
