About the Role
We are seeking a passionate individual interested in developing expertise and industry relationships. This role involves creative problem-solving, client service, and project management within the Power Systems Engineering Consulting field.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to creative problem-solving to drive outcomes for clients.
- Provide detailed fact findings, research, and analysis on energy-related activities, particularly climate resilience and adaptation, grid modernization, and sustainability.
- Understand public and private sources of downscaled climate data and the ability to download and isolate it to client assets using methods such as nearest neighbor analysis.
- Perform statistical and economic analyses in Excel, R, Python.
- Prepare workshop and meeting materials, attend sessions, and summarize outcomes.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other documents for client deliverables.
- Present results of assigned tasks and analyses that resonate with clients.
- Work effectively with colleagues and client staff as part of a project team; work independently as needed.
Requirements
- Must be a US Permanent Resident or US Citizen due to client engagements.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
- Five (5+) plus years of relevant utilities industry or consulting experience, excluding internships/co-ops/graduate research/fellowships.
- Relevant work experience should be related to climate resilience and adaptation, grid modernization, and sustainability or similarly related.
- Demonstrated team player with the ability to lead project technical workstreams, including managing junior-level analysts.
- Client service orientation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience developing and delivering presentations in PowerPoint.
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with data analytics.
- Strong interest in business strategy, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
- An inquisitive nature and desire for continuous improvement.
- Tireless attention to detail in all prior experience (academic and professional).
- Superior interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously, prioritize and plan work activities while meeting respective deadlines.
- Highly developed organizational and management skills.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Ability to work in Guidehouse Office or Client Office.
