About the Role

The Senior Construction Manager owns construction delivery for assigned power generation projects across the full lifecycle, focusing on engine halls and associated electrical facilities from mobilization through mechanical completion and turnover.

Responsibilities

Lead pre-construction planning, including construction execution plan, site logistics, laydown and crane strategy, and constructability input.
Own site access and logistics, including haul route surveys, permits, road use agreements, and equipment delivery sequencing.
Manage construction real estate needs, including laydown leases, temporary easements, and craft parking.
Lead labor force planning, assessing craft availability and setting housing, per diem, and local hire strategy.
Define, procure, and manage early works packages such as clearing, grading, drainage, and temporary utilities.
Support contractor selection through execution evaluation, mobilization readiness reviews, and schedule assessments.
Serve as Atlas's construction representative to contractors, leading meetings, look ahead reviews, and issue escalation.
Direct assigned Construction Managers and field staff, setting reporting standards and assigning coverage.
Verify contractor progress against the schedule and recommend pay application approval.
Coordinate field changes, RFIs, and design clarifications between contractors and engineering.
Coordinate major equipment delivery, installation, and care, custody, and control transfer.
Monitor manpower, productivity, and schedule recovery plans, holding contractors accountable.
Enforce safety expectations, review incident reports, and exercise stop work authority.
Coordinate permit conditions affecting construction with the permitting consultant.
Lead mechanical completion walkdowns and construction to commissioning turnover.
Review contractor claims, notices, and change requests, providing construction fact finding.
Report construction status, risks, and decisions needed to leadership.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent field experience.
15 or more years of construction experience on large industrial or power projects, including at least 5 years in a senior construction management role.
Demonstrated experience as an owner's representative over construction contractors on projects over $500 million.
Experience across the full construction lifecycle, from site development and early works through execution and turnover.
Experience managing multi-building or multi-phase construction with large craft workforces.
Working knowledge of civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical construction for industrial or power generation facilities.
Experience with progress verification, pay application review, and construction change management.
Ability to lead a team of managers and hold contractors accountable while maintaining working relationships.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability and willingness to be site-based for extended periods.
Valid Driver's License.
Reciprocating engine, gas turbine, or battery storage power plant construction experience.
Experience planning and executing site development and early works packages.
Experience on behind the meter or islanded generation projects.
Pipeline or utility lateral construction exposure.
OSHA 30 or equivalent construction safety training.
Professional Engineer license or Certified Construction Manager (CCM).
