About the Role

KPMG is seeking an Advisory Associate for its Advisory practice. This role involves assisting internal team members with financial due diligence for buy-side and sell-side transaction advisory engagements, analyzing target company data, and composing client-tailored transaction advisory reports.

Responsibilities

• Assist internal team members with providing financial due diligence assistance related to buy-side and sell-side transaction advisory engagements, to Fortune 100 companies and private equity investors
• Analyze target company and/or client data to identify key financial performance and operating trends and insights through rigorous financial statement analysis and applied data analytics
• Assist with designing, creating and composing client tailored transaction advisory reports specific to key engagement and/or transaction issues which address and highlight stakeholder concerns, valuation models, synergies, contractual issues and accounting and tax reporting implications including the following analyses of operating trends, quality of earnings, financial position, net working capital, debt and potential indebtedness considerations, borrowing base calculations and/or business combinations

Requirements

• Must be pursuing and have obtained by the start date or have completed a Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or a related field from an accredited college/university within the past 12 months.
• Must be pursuing the state-specific education requirements to be a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the principal place of business for this position, with completion of required academic credits prior to the start date.
• Must have a current/most recent GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Demonstrated ability in technical skills, business acumen, critical thinking, and agility, with the capacity to excel and drive strategic outcomes.
• Possess a professional demeanor and a collaborative leadership approach in a dynamic, evolving environment.
• Ability to leverage common business technologies, including MS Office (with an emphasis on Excel) and AI, and quickly learn KPMG tools and applications.
• Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to apply professional judgment and skepticism.
• Capacity to manage priorities across multiple tasks and deliver high-quality work in a professional services capacity.
• Must reside within a commutable distance of the office and be responsible for own transportation to office/client locations.
• Work location may be in the office, at client sites, or virtual/remote, requiring U.S. residency when remote.
• Client site locations may require travel and overnight/extended stay.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Candidates are limited to a maximum of two active applications.
• Consideration will be given to qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with relevant ordinances.
