About the Role
KPMG is seeking an Internal Audit and Controls Associate to join their Audit and Assurance team, focusing on AI and digital innovation to deliver intelligent, data-driven solutions for clients. The role emphasizes a people-first approach with investment in continuous learning, growth, and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Engage in assignments focused on process, risk, and controls, including risk assessments, planning, scoping, execution, and reporting.
- Conduct internal control assessment, design, and effectiveness testing.
- Support business objectives through stakeholder communications.
- Assist with client Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
- Plan and execute projects related to risk, control, and internal audit using automation tools.
- Test internal controls and analyze results for business and IT processes.
- Participate in internal audit engagements, performing analytical reviews of client processes and data.
- Contribute to the preparation and analysis of internal audit findings and recommendations.
- Learn and apply new technologies such as cyber, automation, AI, modern ERP systems, and blockchain to engagements.
Requirements
- Must be pursuing or have completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, Management Information Systems, Accounting Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent program from an accredited college or university by the start date.
- Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Knowledge of data analysis techniques, including Generative AI applications.
- Ability to navigate MS Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong technical, business acumen, critical thinking, and agility skills.
- Demonstrated ability to excel and drive strategic outcomes in a dynamic environment.
- Professional demeanor and collaborative leadership approach.
- Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to apply professional judgment and skepticism.
- Ability to manage priorities across multiple tasks and deliver high-quality work.
- Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office.
- Able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using own means of transportation.
- Applicant must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Consideration will be given to qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in Los Angeles County, per relevant ordinances.
