About the Role
OneView is looking for a Scrum Master to measurably improve delivery teams. Reporting to the Director of Agile Delivery, you will act as a partner and consultant to the team's engineering lead, focusing on team performance, behavior, communication, and collaboration. Your success will be measured by team speed and employee satisfaction. This role requires strong judgment, organization, and people skills, with the expectation that you will proactively develop and execute improvement plans.
Responsibilities
- Serve one or two delivery teams: facilitate ceremonies, maintain the board, and coach the team toward sustainable self-organization and accountability.
- Partner with engineering leads to address people, communication, and ways-of-working issues proactively.
- Own and execute an improvement agenda for your teams, tracking progress and outcomes.
- Integrate factory-wide improvement initiatives into your teams and report on their effectiveness.
- Remove impediments, including those requiring difficult conversations, and escalate when necessary with prepared groundwork.
- Maintain an accurate, up-to-date picture of team progress without burdening the team.
- Foster a team environment where problems are surfaced early and disagreements are resolved constructively.
- Monitor team well-being and act on insights by escalating issues appropriately and timely.
- Clearly escalate obstacles to team improvement, including team members or leads, providing specific details early.
- Facilitate decision-making and conflict resolution without removing agency from the team.
- Instrument and support team metrics (throughput, predictability, happiness) and report trends honestly.
- Represent teams to product, QA, DevOps, and customer-facing departments to proactively manage dependencies.
- Contribute to the Scrum Master practice by experimenting with new approaches and sharing learnings.
Requirements
- 2+ years in agile delivery (Scrum Master, BA, delivery coordinator, tester, or engineer with process ownership).
- Demonstrated experience proposing and executing improvements independently.
- Genuine servant leadership focused on team success.
- High emotional intelligence, with the ability to read situations and individuals.
- Proven ability to maintain confidences while solving problems.
- Experience coaching individuals outside of direct reporting lines, especially technical leads.
- Literacy in agile metrics (throughput, predictability, cycle time, WIP limits, defect rate) and their application.
- Demonstrated success in measurably improving team delivery.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple parallel threads accurately.
- Strong communication skills across diverse audiences.
- Ability to deliver uncomfortable feedback early and plainly, including to senior stakeholders.
- Experience using AI to reduce team overhead in areas like dependency tracking, health signals, retrospectives, or reporting.
