About the Role

The Revenue Cycle Business Informaticist optimizes revenue cycle processes using the Epic EMR system, ensuring financial data accuracy and completeness. This role analyzes, designs, implements, and supports revenue cycle information systems to improve efficiency, financial performance, and compliance. The position also collaborates with the Controller for accurate monthly financial reporting tied to Epic data.

Responsibilities

• Leads or participates in the implementation and optimization of Epic EMR modules related to revenue cycle management, including billing, claims, accounts receivable, and patient access.
• Works with the finance department to ensure accurate data transfer from Epic and accurate revenue reporting at the business unit and service line level.
• Configures and customizes the Epic EMR system to meet revenue cycle process needs, providing ongoing support and maintenance for data integrity and system functionality.
• Develops and generates regular and ad hoc reports to support revenue cycle operations and decision making.
• Develops and maintains a monthly dashboard of key indicators and external benchmarks.
• Analyzes revenue cycle data to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities, providing actionable insights and recommendations for revenue capture and reimbursement.
• Serves as a subject matter expert for troubleshooting and resolving Epic-related revenue cycle issues.
• Prepares, interprets, and analyzes revenue cycle and financial data.
• Collaborates with clinical and administrative staff to identify revenue cycle process improvement areas.
• Conducts reproducible analyses synthesizing data from multiple sources to drive actionable improvements.
• Helps identify trends, patterns, and opportunities in revenue cycle and finance.
• Upholds and ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, and organizational mission and values.
• Collaborates with revenue cycle departments to leverage data for problem-solving and user-friendly reporting solutions.
• Develops documentation for new and existing analytic processes and workflows.
• Performs other duties as needed to drive the organization's vision, mission, and values.

Requirements

Experience Level

• 5 years experience in healthcare revenue cycle setting or finance department working with revenue cycle functions and financial reporting

Education Level

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Related Field
