About the Role

AWS Security is seeking a GRC Specialist to support security program certification, accreditation, assurance, and authorization activities. The role requires a problem-solver with a broad understanding of the regulatory landscape, cloud technologies, and experience in security and compliance.

Responsibilities

Serve as the GRC Specialist for designated components to perform assurance and authorization activities, ensuring adherence to standards and protocols.
Collaborate with internal teams and customers to establish baselines and level-set security requirements, controls, and objectives.
Implement ISM, PSPF, DSPF, ASIO T4, NIST, and/or other security compliance frameworks into design and build baselines.
Create, optimize, and support cross-functional working groups and projects to enhance security efficiency and effectiveness.
Utilize domain expertise to develop thought leadership material on cloud and emerging technologies.
Deliver to tight deadlines, drive results, and ensure accuracy in all aspects of security management.

Requirements

Must be an Australian citizen.
Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
Must be able to complete an Organisational Suitability Assessment.
7+ years of experience in security assurance, cybersecurity, auditing, security architecture, regulatory affairs, or public sector cybersecurity management.
Experience with governance, risk, and compliance programs involving regulatory bodies.
Proficient with government security frameworks, policies, and standards (e.g., PSPF, ISM, DSPF, ASD Essential Eight).
Experience working with cloud technologies.
Proven ability to influence and lead business partners and supporting teams.
Ability to credibly coordinate between technical teams and business stakeholders.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to produce detailed and complex written business cases without the use of PowerPoint.
