About the Role
The Manager, Learning & Talent Operations is a key leadership role within People & Talent Strategy, responsible for turning Wawanesa’s people strategy into meaningful programs and outcomes that build organizational capability. This role leads a team and partners across the business to shape and deliver high-impact learning, leadership development, and talent management initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Shape and execute priority People Strategy initiatives, including leadership development, talent management, and enterprise learning.
- Lead, coach, develop, and manage the performance of the Learning & Talent Operations team, fostering a high-performing, collaborative, and service-oriented team culture.
- Manage talent management practices and deliverables, including talent reviews, succession planning, leadership pipeline visibility, talent insights, follow-up actions, and reporting that strengthen internal readiness.
- Lead the design, delivery, facilitation, and continuous improvement of programs, leadership development initiatives, talent processes, and enterprise capability-building experiences.
- Collaborate with People leaders, HRBPs, functional leaders, and business stakeholders to understand enterprise needs, set priorities, align plans, and deliver practical solutions that improve employee and leader experience.
- Drive execution of priorities through strong governance, clear plans, disciplined delivery, risk management, and outcome reporting.
- Use data, feedback, and insights to assess program effectiveness, identify risks and opportunities, recommend improvements, and support evidence-based decisions on learning and talent investments.
- Manage vendor relationships, including service expectations, issue resolution, and contract inputs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 7-10 years of progressive experience in learning, talent management, employee development, or related disciplines, including experience leading enterprise-wide programs or initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong knowledge of learning, leadership development, talent management, succession planning, and employee development practices.
- Strong program and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and competing deadlines.
- Ability to translate strategic priorities into practical, scalable programs, processes, and solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with experience using data and insights to inform recommendations and continuous improvement.
- Excellent relationship-building, communication, facilitation, coaching, and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
