About the Role
Provides expert compliance support to internal business partners, ensuring timely and accurate problem resolution while mitigating risk exposure.
Responsibilities
- Serves as an enterprise-level subject matter expert on assigned Paychex products and services, including laws, regulations, legislation, guidance, trends, and industry best practices.
- Partners with Compliance leadership and senior business management to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Maintains strategic knowledge of Paychex products and services outside of the primary area of expertise.
- Develops and maintains constructive relationships with internal and external business partners to communicate compliance needs and minimize compliance costs.
- Takes a leadership role in managing relationships with external regulators, agencies, and vendors.
- Represents the company on industry groups and coalitions as needed.
- Leads the formulation of department policies, strategic plans, and standards in collaboration with the Compliance Director and leadership teams.
- Manages complex compliance projects and engages business partners for participation.
- Represents Compliance on project teams as an independent decision-maker to advise on regulatory/legislative implications and provide strategic direction.
- Conducts research on complex compliance risk-centric issues impacting Paychex products and services.
- Proactively identifies regulatory and legislative developments that may present business opportunities or challenges.
- Recommends changes to products or services based on research and analysis.
- Collaborates with business partners on long-term strategies and roadmaps using comprehensive knowledge of regulatory concepts.
- Provides actionable, comprehensive risk analysis on complex regulatory and compliance matters to internal partners.
- Prepares gap and needs-based analyses and provides risk mitigation measures.
- Assesses and manages compliance implications of potential acquisitions, new products, product enhancements, marketing materials, and other corporate initiatives.
- Creates and reviews opportunities for continuous learning through compliance alerts, letters, webinars, training sessions, and newsletters.
- Conducts and/or participates in speaking engagements and educational presentations on regulatory and legislative matters.
- Facilitates the distribution of team member workload assignments, providing oversight and guidance.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the general purpose of the position's function.
