About the Role
The Sales Associate is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, supporting store goals, maintaining a clean store, and handling cash transactions. They assist customers, follow company policies, and build positive relationships with hospital contacts and volunteers.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service, including greeting customers upon entry and thanking them upon exit.
- Meet store performance objectives and daily/monthly sales goals.
- Follow corporate and store manager directions for supporting events.
- Clock in and out according to scheduled work slots.
- Ensure the store is clean and well-maintained, including dusting shelves, removing trash, and organizing displays.
- Clean surfaces as per the gift shop schedule and instructions.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including counting down the register drawer at the start of each shift.
- Follow company policy for processing credit cards and other forms of payment.
- Notate cash overages or shortages and notify the Store Manager of unexplained differences.
- Follow hospital and Cloverkey policies related to personal appearance, attendance, and customer service.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the hospital contact and maintain a good relationship.
- Show respect for and understanding of the role of volunteers.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in gift sales or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Skills
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with customers.
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Basic math skills for processing transactions.
- Strong sales skills with the ability to upsell and cross-sell products.
- Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
