About the Role
Responsible for assessing, planning, organizing, and participating in rehabilitative programs that help build or restore vocational, homemaking, and daily living skills, as well as general independence, to persons with disabilities or developmental delays. Serves as a resource in the education, training and mentoring of other staff and as a clinical instructor for assigned students. Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care.
Responsibilities
- Assessing, planning, organizing, and participating in rehabilitative programs.
- Building or restoring vocational, homemaking, and daily living skills.
- Restoring general independence to persons with disabilities or developmental delays.
- Developing key workflows and clinical protocols or guidelines for department.
- Serving as a resource in the education, training and mentoring of other staff.
- Serving as a clinical instructor for assigned students.
- Coordinating staff education and student programs.
- Adhering to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program.
- OT-Occupational Therapist certification.
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.
- 5 years of recent relevant experience.
- Critical thinking, complex problem solving, decisive judgement and ability to work independently.
- Knowledge and application of professional practice and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work in a demanding work environment.
- Ability to organize multiple priorities and complete work duties within expected timelines and requirements.
