About the Role
Merriam Music is seeking a driven, curious, and confident individual to join their sales team. Responsibilities
- Serve new and existing piano clients by educating them on products and services, identifying purchase opportunities, and facilitating fulfillment.
- Interact with customers in-person and virtually through various channels including showroom, phone, SMS, email, promotional events, online chat, and social media.
- Maintain expert-level knowledge of the marketplace, including products and competitors.
- Provide floor coverage at any of the 3 GTA locations (Oakville, Vaughan, Toronto) as needed, with a designated home-base.
- Participate in professional development, training, and team meetings.
- Adhere to company processes, procedures, approaches, and sales philosophies, utilizing provided tools and systems.
Requirements
- Proven sales track record in any inside or outside sales position.
- Some experience playing an instrument, piano preferably, at any level.
- Post-secondary education of any discipline.
- At least 5 years of prior work experience (including self-employment) with available references.
- At least 2 years of prior success in sales or similar.
- Fluency with current cloud productivity software and basic workflow.
- Enjoys goal-oriented problem-solving and is energized by challenges.
- Highly organized and excels in personal time management.
- Competitive with themselves and enjoys pushing themselves to achieve.
- Enjoys meeting and speaking to new people.
- Enjoys learning technical or mechanical details about their hobbies or areas of interest.
- Strong vocabulary and effective written and verbal communication skills.
