About the Role
You will design, build, and own Workbench’s warehouse simulation engine, simulating warehouse designs against multiple operational scenarios. Reporting to the Chief Scientist, you will create simulation models, build the execution engine, and lead its integration into the main product. This is a zero-to-one build opportunity with influence on product features and the technical roadmap.
Responsibilities
- Translate warehouse operational processes into mathematical simulation models at various levels of granularity.
- Identify the right simulation paradigm and best tools for the problem.
- Benchmark the performance of the simulation engine across various warehouse operations.
- Drive the discussion around simulation as a product by prioritizing features, establishing a technical and product roadmap, and overseeing development and integration.
- Assemble and lead the team that will build and maintain the simulation engine.
- Utilize AI tools for execution and apply judgment to ambiguous aspects.
Requirements
- Experience and understanding of warehouse or supply chain operations.
- Hands-on experience in designing and building simulation models, with a good understanding of different simulation paradigms.
- Comfort in a zero-to-one, high-ambiguity environment.
- Strong engineering ability to build models and tooling.
- Master's or PhD in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related field, or a Bachelor's with equivalent hands-on simulation experience.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

- 145,00K - 170,00K CAD per year with a 12 percent target bonus.
