About the Role
The Controller for The DiMarco Group plays a critical role in overseeing the accounting operations and supporting strategic financial initiatives across multiple entities and investor portfolios. This position ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and efficient financial systems while contributing to long-term financial planning and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting functions across multiple operating entities and investor portfolios, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with GAAP.
- Supervise bookkeeping activities across multiple entities under management, ensuring timely and accurate recordkeeping.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for all entities.
- Lead short- and long-term cash forecasting and daily cash management.
- Collaborate with the Director of Finance to support budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Manage and review complex tax returns, co-ordinate with external tax advisors, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws while optimizing tax strategies.
- Provide support and oversight for financial systems including MRI, QuickBooks, Nexus, and Kyriba.
- Develop internal processes and assist in the design, implementation, and monitoring of internal control procedures to ensure financial integrity and compliance.
- Contribute to cross-functional, project-based initiatives aimed at optimizing financial processes and supporting broader business objectives.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience with personal tax planning and compliance is highly desirable, particularly in contexts involving ownership-level financial strategy.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, MRI), Excel, and financial reporting tools.
- Experience with Nexus and Kyriba is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally and support strategic initiatives.
