About the Role
KPMG is seeking an Advisory Intern for its Advisory practice. The role involves using data analytics to solve M&A problems for major US companies, developing insights, executing research, translating findings into recommendations, and supporting a multi-disciplinary analytics team.
Responsibilities
- Use the latest data analytics techniques on large data sets to answer deal-related (M&A) problems for some of the largest US companies and industries
- Develop industry and business-specific insights using custom workflows, databases and analytical procedures to advance engagements and business deals
- Execute research on business and data nuances relevant to a client's industry
- Assist in rapidly translating analytical findings into impactful and cutting-edge C-suite recommendations
- Support a multi-disciplinary analytics team with a specialization in machine learning, data science and design
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in a quantitative field such as Data & Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Operations Research, Engineering, Data Science or other related field
- Must have a current/most recent GPA of 3.0 or above
- Advanced Excel skills including formulas and pivot tables
- Must have experience with Python
- Knowledge of one of the following data manipulation tools: SQL, R, Alteryx
- Knowledge of PowerBI or Tableau a plus
- Strong in technical, business acumen, critical thinking and agility skills; demonstrated ability to excel and drive strategic outcomes, coupled with a professional demeanor and a collaborative leadership approach, in a dynamic, evolving environment
- Ability to leverage common business technologies, including MS Office (with an emphasis on Excel) and AI, and quickly learn KPMG tools and applications used by our clients
- Strong communication, organization and relationship-building skills, with the ability to apply professional judgment and skepticism, manage priorities across multiple tasks and deliver high-quality work in a professional services capacity
- Must reside within a commutable distance of the office for this position and be responsible for your own transportation
- Work location may be in the office, at client sites, or virtual/remote depending on business need. Must be located within the U.S. when working remotely. Client site locations may require travel and overnight/extended stay.
