About the Role
KPMG is seeking an Intern to join their Trade and Customs practice. This role offers the opportunity to become an integral part of a dynamic team at a leading tax firm, working in a collaborative, future-forward culture. You will collaborate with specialists, utilize cutting-edge technologies in Ignition Centers, and help high-profile clients navigate complex business challenges.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on import and export matters in a variety of industries
- Examine U.S. and international import and export trade matters
- Research, write and review international trade advice
- Formulate ideas and deliver possible trade savings opportunities
- Assist in the delivery of multiple client engagements on time and within budget; maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations and enhance client satisfaction
- Support clients with the implementation of global trade automated solutions
- Build capabilities in key technologies that enable tax professionals for client service delivery such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, Power BI, and more
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a Bachelors and/or Masters in Business (Supply Chain, Logistics, or other business-related major), International Affairs (International Studies, Political Science), International Trade, Data or related degree, or equivalent program
- Upon completion of this internship, candidates must have additional academic credits to complete before obtaining their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements
- Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office and be able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using own means of transportation
- Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, at times with relatively short notice
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future
- Consideration for employment for qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with California Fair Chance Act, Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers, Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, and San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.
