About the Role

KPMG is seeking an Advisory Intern, Risk Services – Technology for their Advisory practice. This role focuses on supporting the delivery of Cybersecurity and Technology Risk client engagements by executing assigned tasks and identifying/remediating business, technology, and cyber challenges.

Responsibilities

Help support the delivery of Cybersecurity and Technology Risk client engagements through the execution of assigned tasks based on the engagement objectives.
Help identify and remediate complex business, technology and cyber challenges leveraging KPMG frameworks and methodologies, inclusive of leveraging artificial intelligence and automation tools and technologies in delivering client projects.
Research and understand technology risk and cyber security related topics, concepts, tools and processes to support client delivery.
May provide support with identity & access management, GRC, design and/or implementation of infrastructure/platform/software security, IT risk and security assessment, data protection and privacy impact assessment, data classification or information governance, enterprise information security strategy, compliance monitoring and user awareness campaign, data leakage/content monitoring and filtering or data encryption and compliance readiness.
Develop and implement specialized risk management strategies tailored to technology environments, including cybersecurity risk assessments and incident response plans.
Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to align risk analysis with technology strategies and ensure risk management measures are integrated into technology operations.
Research and stay updated on emerging technology risks and industry best practices to provide proactive recommendations for risk mitigation and continuous improvement in technology systems and processes.
Prepare and deliver detailed reports and presentations on technology risks and recommended solutions to clients and internal teams, ensuring information is accessible and actionable.
Operate with integrity, professionalism and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment.

Requirements

Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Analytics, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, IT/Technology, Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or related degree.
Must have a current/most recent GPA of 3.0 or above.
Fluency with artificial intelligence concepts and tools with ability to apply AI techniques to analyze and interpret data, using insights to solve problems and effectively communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Knowledge of data analysis techniques.
Strong technical, business acumen, critical thinking and agility skills; demonstrated ability to excel and drive strategic outcomes, coupled with a professional demeanor and a collaborative leadership approach, in a dynamic, evolving environment.
Ability to leverage common business technologies, including MS Office (with an emphasis on Excel) and AI, and quickly learn KPMG tools and applications used by our clients.
Strong communication, organization and relationship-building skills, with the ability to apply professional judgment and skepticism, manage priorities across multiple tasks and deliver high-quality work in a professional services capacity.
Must reside within a commutable distance of the office for this position and be responsible for your own transportation.
Work location may be in the office, at client sites, or virtual/remote depending on business need. Must be located within the U.S. when working remotely.
Client site locations may require travel and overnight/extended stay.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
