About the Role
The NewYork-Presbyterian Finance Summer Intern Program educates undergraduate students on the financial operations of a hospital, designed for those interested in the business aspect of healthcare and eager to explore healthcare management. The program exposes students to Senior Hospital Administration and provides real-world experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop financial operations improvement initiatives to inform strategic reform for a large multi-specialty physician group.
- Analyze program and service line profitability.
- Assist financial operations to help maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the hospital.
- Analyze various general ledger accounts.
- Generate and analyze revenue and expense reports.
- Track new expenses.
- Conduct reconciliation activities as needed.
- Work on special data-oriented projects.
Requirements
- Eligible candidates must be a rising senior undergraduate student who graduates in 2028.
- Enrollment in a bachelor’s program.
- Knowledge of computers and various Microsoft office applications.
- Ability to work independently.
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide statistical analysis.
- All roles require on-site presence.
- Employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
- NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.
