About the Role

Seeking a candidate with a strong background in Talent Acquisition and an enthusiasm for the candidate experience to be an integral part of the ARL HR Operations department. This position will focus primarily on student, support, and early career research positions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with hiring managers and recruiting staff to determine sourcing criteria for qualified prospects.
  • Develop and utilize engagement methods to encourage prospect interest in ARL positions posted via Workday.
  • Advise ARL managers on best practices for recruiting, interviewing, and selection.
  • Review and draft job requisitions in Workday, discussing drafts with hiring managers.
  • Submit requisition drafts for final review and approval.
  • Manage pre-hire Workday actions related to job requisitions, including posting, un-posting, closing, canceling, and dispositioning applicants.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the entire UT Austin Workday candidate database.
  • Routinely travel for recruiting events.
  • Coordinate and participate in university career fairs.
  • Periodically participate in military veteran recruiting and career fairs.
  • Consistently maintain ARL’s presence on sourcing websites like Indeed and LinkedIn.
  • Advertise via university organizations, career centers, and other venues to provide advance information for recruiting fairs.
  • Research market trends and developments in talent acquisition and sourcing platforms.
  • Present comparisons and recommend products for projected highest return on investment (ROI).
  • Provide relevant data to record and measure ROI and collaborate on developing and analyzing metrics.
  • Provide timely reports regarding Workday recruiting activity to the HRO Manager.
  • Develop a tracking mechanism for sourcing activity and documenting discussions with hiring managers.
  • Develop and maintain recruiting support from research laboratories, support areas, and HRO/HRS staff.
  • Provide a positive customer experience for applicants, managers, and directors.
  • Ensure postings are current and updated regularly.
  • Maintain regular communication with hiring managers regarding activity on Workday job postings.
  • Perform other related functions as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Communications, Marketing or related field.
  • Five years of related experience including direct sourcing experience.
  • Strong communication skills, able to summarize important points clearly in correspondence and dialogue.
  • Ability to track, monitor, and summarize information accurately for stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to transition effectively between key responsibility areas.
  • Ability to remain calm under high pressure.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Balance of empathy with objectivity in emotionally charged situations.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with ability to provide multiple options for resolution.
  • Ability to deliver results with little supervision.
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Highly skilled in tracking and prioritizing daily tasks in a rapidly changing environment with multiple critical deadlines.
  • Critical organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to characteristics and processes unique to ARL as a University Affiliated Research Center.
  • Experience with Workday or a similar HCM System.
  • Clear, professional, and collaborative communication, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated interest and desire to be an integral part of the department through excellent customer service and consistent professional interaction.
  • Strong skills in MS Office with proven ability to use Excel and SharePoint.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
  • US Citizen.
  • Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
