About the Role
Parsons is seeking a talented Design Manager, ADA to manage high-profile and complex Rail Facility and ADA upgrade projects in New York City, ensuring on-schedule completion within budget.
Responsibilities
- Act as the Company representative with the client and subcontractors during program execution.
- Negotiate changes to the scope of work with the client and subcontractors.
- Market and secure additional work with the client.
- Follow up on instructions and commitments associated with the project.
- Participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and public meetings.
- Oversee the establishment of Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan.
- Establish program requirements and monitor deliverables for adherence.
- Develop and distribute a project description to the project team.
- Plan, direct, supervise, and control all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned project.
- Assign responsibility for executing project plans to key subordinates.
- Provide input to performance reviews and development plans for subordinates.
- Mobilize company resources to create effective project teams.
- Discuss required qualifications for key project positions with management.
- Collaborate with office facilities staff to address project space requirements.
- Develop budgets, schedules, and plans for project elements.
- Ensure the project meets or exceeds established goals.
- Devise and execute action plans to rectify cost overruns or delays.
- Advise the client and company management of any changes to scope, cost, or schedule.
- Maintain current and timely change orders.
- Promote technical and commercial excellence through Quality Assurance processes.
- Monitor and report on project activity progress, milestones, and conditions affecting cost or schedule.
- Establish weekly meetings to review project status and formulate action items.
- Perform other appropriate responsibilities.
Requirements
- 4-year degree in Engineering or related technical/business field.
- At least 15-20 years of related work experience.
- Broad general technical and business background.
- Previous project management experience on similar or related projects.
- Professional Engineering license in NY is a must.
- 5 years experience in delivering Design-Build projects of similar scope (delivery or owner's side).
