About the Role
As a Security Operations Center Specialist, you will be responsible for taking calls, monitoring Life Safety Systems, and managing critical events and emergency situations across our store, corporate, distribution, and manufacturing facilities. You will be part of a team that provides clear, calm, and decisive direction, maintaining high standards and making critical decisions on the spot to manage events with care and respect. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment with high expectations, diverse assignments, and a collaborative team.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the response for a variety of people safety situations and events impacting the business.
- Detect and communicate threats to the company and its employees, including extreme weather, political instability, crime, terror, and infrastructure failures.
- Analyze critical event data to determine causes and trends, recommending corrective actions.
- Think through situations, ask pertinent questions, solicit factual information, eliminate misinformation, and solve problems on the fly.
- Take the lead in time-sensitive and complex situations by providing clear, calm, and concise direction.
- Anticipate collateral issues during an event and take appropriate steps to mitigate them or notify others.
- Provide as-needed support for security operations, crisis response, and business continuity functions.
- Prioritize incoming workload while focusing on people safety and security.
- Build relationships with key vendors and store/facility maintenance teams to provide customer service.
Requirements
- 2 or more years of related work experience.
- Ability to problem-solve, make accurate/timely decisions, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- System aptitude; ability to quickly learn and adapt to new computer-based applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience handling complex, time-sensitive situations.
- Must be 18 years or older.
