About the Role
Under the general supervision of the Line Leader or Production Supervisor, the Production Technician will be responsible for ensuring equipment is operated safely and correctly by utilizing monitors and gauges. The role ensures equipment operates within process specifications and produces good quality product at all times.
Responsibilities
- Perform regular assessments of manufacturing areas to ensure compliance with GMPs, SOPs, and quality/safety standards, addressing all observations promptly.
- Train employees on job functions per SOP and evaluate training verification.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for production processes, conducting ongoing process evaluations like time studies and run at rate studies.
- Develop manufacturing and processing procedures, set machine controls, oversee production, and inspect processes.
- Provide immediate direction for potential product quality issues, including initial assessment, impact determination, containment, corrective actions, and escalation.
- Actively participate in investigations related to manufacturing processes and the implementation of Corrective and Preventive Actions.
- Make machine adjustments to resolve line issues and support maintenance in minor troubleshooting.
- Perform SPC (Statistical Process Control) checks as per procedure.
- Participate in the change-over process, including assembly and disassembly, to meet or exceed established change-over time standards.
Requirements
- Completion of a college diploma in a related technical program.
- Minimum 1 year of previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Exposure to heavy machinery.
- Exposure to loud noises.
- Exposure to forklift and other machine traffic.
- Exposure to extreme heat.
