About the Role
The R&D Finance team enables the financial strategy behind Datadog’s Engineering and Product organizations. This role will partner directly with technical leadership to drive decision-making around critical investments, connecting the dots across the organization through a financial lens to ensure operational alignment and inform decision making.
Responsibilities
- Partner with senior business leaders to manage departmental budgets, including the company’s co-founder and CTO.
- Manage financial forecasts and analytics across revenue, customers, product, company expenses, and headcount.
- Help manage significant portions of company spend, including AI and GPU spend.
- Work on trend, ROI, and profitability analyses at product and customer levels to support data-driven decision making.
- Work with finance management on quarterly Board materials, including coordination and consolidation across stakeholders.
- Assist in planning and budgeting cycles, ensuring consistency in tools, templates, and processes.
- Work on ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives for senior management, including assessing potential acquisition opportunities and/or negotiations with strategic partners.
- Become proficient with various financial planning and business intelligence (BI) tools, including Pigment, Tableau, and Metabase.
Requirements
- 2+ years of professional experience in FP&A / Strategic Finance, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, and/or other related field.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or economics.
- Mastery of Excel and PowerPoint with proven experience in building financial models and managing complex data.
- Clear, concise communicator and team player with a humble mindset and ‘can-do’ attitude.
