About the Role
As an After School Instructor, you will work directly with the Program Manager, other After School Instructors, Tutors, and students to prepare for and execute successful after-school programming. You will be responsible for supporting program logistics and operations for one of our Middle School After School program sites.
Responsibilities
- Deliver pre-written Writing curriculum twice weekly to middle school students.
- Support with logistical aspects of the program and fill in when needed.
- Learn and practice student management techniques and communicate with your Program Manager about student needs.
- Participate in weekly check-ins with your Program Manager for professional development and mid-semester/end-of-semester evaluations.
- Evaluate student output and track student performance.
- Complete training and observation sessions.
- Perform other duties based on the BTNY site to which you are assigned.
Requirements
- Demonstrate experience and results with similar responsibilities.
- Passionate about forming relationships with middle school students, while acting as a role model at all times.
- Be a current college student and/or be 18 or older.
- Commit to the entire Fall 2026 Term (September 16th - December 16th).
- Be confident with Zoom, Google Drive, and comfortable learning new systems.
- Demonstrate excellence in BTNY’s Core Values.
