About the Role

The Regional Food Bank of Northeastern NY is seeking a CDL A Truck Driver for local routes, offering consistent schedules and competitive pay. This role is crucial for supporting the food bank's mission of feeding people by ensuring safe and efficient transportation of donations and products.

Responsibilities

Safely transport food donations, products, and other materials.
Operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with traffic laws.
Maintain a valid CDL and Department of Transportation Medical Card.
Complete trip reports and ELD documentation accurately.
Work occasional Saturdays as required.
Inspect all power equipment prior to use.
Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
Maintain truck condition, including refueling, adding fluids, and cleaning.
Follow all Food Bank safety standards and DOT requirements.
Assist with the proper handling and storage of product.
Load and unload cargo and verify load accuracy.
Maintain accurate receiving and inventory records.
Safely operate power equipment.
Represent the Food Bank positively and professionally.
Provide courteous and professional service.
Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
Adhere to the Food Bank's Employee Code of Conduct.
Maintain required licenses, certifications, and documentation.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older.
Possess a valid New York State CDL Class A driver's license.
At least two years of truck driving experience.
Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug testing.
Must be able to obtain and maintain power equipment certification.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required.
Prior experience operating power equipment in a warehouse setting preferred.
Requires the safe operation of power equipment.
Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds without assistance.
