About the Role

Create and manage technical content across Rocscience's suite of geotechnical engineering software, ensuring complex information is accurate, clear, consistent, and easy for users to understand.

Responsibilities

Create, organize, maintain, and publish technical documentation across Rocscience products and services.
Write and copy-edit documentation pages, tutorials, and verification/theory manuals.
Use content management system (CMS) to edit, update, and publish documentation content.
Manage documentation requests through Azure DevOps.
Edit and review HTML content, including font styles, lists, links, and images.
Ensure all documentation content complies with WCAG and provincial accessibility guidelines (AODA).
Ensure all documentation content aligns with Rocscience's Branding Guidelines and Style Guide, and update materials as branding evolves.
Create, organize, and maintain digital media libraries of User Guide assets.
Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team and developers to ensure documentation content stays up-to-date and aligns with the latest software releases.
Collaborate with subject matter experts, including geotechnical engineers, to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency in technical materials.
Communicate complex information clearly to users.
Take screenshots of software for documentation figures and tutorial instructions.
Create simple thumbnail images.
Work with UI/UX, Design, and Web Development teams to develop new content ideas and solutions for the company website.

Requirements

Exceptional English writing and editing skills.
Basic to intermediate understanding of HTML.
Experience working with a content management system such as WordPress or Craft.
Experience writing and editing technical content in a professional capacity.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Good time management skills and the ability to coordinate competing priorities.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to solve problems and learn new software programs quickly.
General understanding of SEO.
General understanding of the software development process.
Familiarity with Azure DevOps or other sprint management tools.
Experience using style guides such as The Canadian Press Stylebook.
Experience working in a field such as engineering, software development, or geomechanics is considered an asset.
Experience using Adobe Creative Suite is an asset.
Educational background in Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing, Digital Marketing, or another relevant field.
Organized and proactive.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to make complex technical information easy to understand.
