About the Role
WRITER is seeking a brand leader who believes in the power of a great brand to earn trust, sharpen conviction, and give people the confidence to act. Reporting to the VP of Brand and Communications, you will drive ownership of the WRITER brand, both internally and externally, from campaign strategy to scalable systems. You will shape how the world perceives WRITER, how employees feel about the company, how the product expresses the brand, and how AI enhances these aspects.
Responsibilities
- Lead brand campaign strategy from concept through activation, developing compelling concepts and managing execution end-to-end.
- Ensure every campaign cumulatively builds a recognizable, trusted, and supported brand.
- Partner with product marketing on integrated go-to-market campaigns, ensuring brand and demand efforts are aligned.
- Activate WRITER's brand across the entire customer journey and employee experience, including onboarding, all-hands meetings, and internal communications.
- Own WRITER's internal instance as the operational backbone for brand, encoding voice, guidelines, and creative standards into brand skills for company-wide use.
- Build and maintain a skill library to enhance employee speed, sharpness, and consistency while preserving distinctiveness.
- Translate front-line brand experience into product insights, acting as an in-house advisor to improve WRITER for brand leaders.
- Collaborate with product and design teams to ensure brand identity is integrated into the product experience, including copy and overall feel.
- Serve as the day-to-day lead for the brand agency, setting briefs, managing the relationship, and ensuring high-quality output.
- Define and own key brand metrics, including awareness, perception, campaign performance, and pipeline influence, using data to refine strategy.
- Conduct ongoing competitive and market research to maintain WRITER's brand leadership.
- Build and own WRITER's brand repository, creating a scalable source of truth for assets, guidelines, templates, and toolkits.
- Champion brand adoption across the organization through enablement programs, turning internal teams into brand ambassadors.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience building brands, preferably in a high-growth B2B technology company where brand was a strategic imperative.
- Proven ability to own both brand strategy and execution, creating brands that foster belief.
- Genuine excitement and a clear point of view on agentic AI's role in brand, including its potential for encoding standards, scaling output, and protecting consistency.
- Experience working with AI tools in a brand context is ideal.
- Demonstrated success in managing agencies, including writing effective briefs and providing constructive feedback.
- Experience working in or alongside product teams, understanding how brand translates into product experiences.
- Experience building scalable brand systems such as asset libraries, guidelines, repositories, brand skills, or AI-powered toolkits.
- Fluency in brand metrics, with the ability to measure impact, connect brand performance to business outcomes, and use data to evolve strategy.
- Excellent communication skills, including precise writing, confident presentation, and the ability to articulate the value of brand investment.
- Low ego and high standards, with the ability to build shared ownership and gain company-wide buy-in.
