About the Role
This role is an integral part of our Technical Services department, ensuring the safe operations, inspection, and maintenance of pool facilities and water rides. The Water Quality Tech will repair, inspect, and troubleshoot equipment and facilities to validate their safe and efficient operation.
Responsibilities
- Keep Safety as #1 priority.
- Monitor water chemistry; make adjustments as necessary and keep required records of chemicals used and tests performed.
- Work with the Control Supervisor to ensure hotel pool and water attractions are operating at a safe and efficient level.
- Perform daily inspection of all pools and water rides, as well as reactive and proactive maintenance of all water rides and hotel pool.
- Use the Hexagon – EAM system to track assigned work orders.
- Be responsible for assigned tool kit and supplies to complete daily tasks.
- Work closely with third-party vendors to ensure work is completed to the highest standards.
- Test, sample, and monitor building water throughout the park including restrooms, fountains, kitchens, and utility rooms.
- Remove debris from water and record pump pressures.
- Fill chemical barrels as needed.
- Maintain chemical pumps and chlorinators.
- Backwash and maintain media pool filtration systems.
- Assist in the repair of pumps and above/below ground piping systems.
- Maintain assigned vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Receive and review various records and reports including test records, ride sheets, etc.
- Prepare and/or reprocess test records, logs, filter sheets, ride sheets, etc.
- Interact and communicate with various groups and individuals such as the immediate supervisor, other Park managers and staff, co-workers, guests, etc.
- Perform general building maintenance work as required.
Requirements
- Previous Water Quality technician experience is a must.
- Knowledge of the practices and procedures associated with maintenance, operation, and upkeep of swimming pools and pool complexes.
- Working knowledge of swimming pool water chemistry and the procedures and methods for testing.
- Knowledge of pool cleaning techniques including disinfecting and algae control and removal.
- Requires basic understanding of facility maintenance, common plumbing repair techniques, and safety precautions.
- Requires working knowledge of Federal, State and local laws, codes and regulations relating to pool maintenance, operation, and safety.
- Requires sufficient writing skills to document maintenance activity.
- Requires sufficient math skills to compute portions and weight.
