About the Role

As a Vice President, Commercial Banker- Innovation Banking, you will identify and develop new business relationships within a target market. This role involves negotiating, underwriting, and closing complex loans, managing deposit relationships, and providing clients with appropriate deposit product solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Identify a target market for new business and develop a book of business from those relationships.
  • Negotiate, underwrite, and coordinate the closing of major and complex loans in compliance with Bank policies.
  • Develop business checking and deposit relationships with customers.
  • Assist clients with deposit-related products and services.
  • Gather and analyze client information to recommend appropriate deposit product solutions.
  • Compile and analyze market research data to develop recommendations regarding products and services for the target market.
  • Engage in business development activities and solicitation of new business.
  • Collaborate with treasury partners to ensure seamless client experiences.
  • Call and visit target customers to promote and sell Bank products and services.
  • Develop and maintain a customer database, including calls and results on new business relationships.
  • Make reports to superiors as required.
  • Interview prospective applicants and request necessary information for loan or credit applications.
  • Correspond or re-interview applicants to resolve questions regarding application information.
  • Perform basic pre-qualification assessment and analysis of financial condition and risk for financing requests.
  • Gather all information necessary to present a financing request to senior management or Loan Committee.
  • Meet with new/potential customers and visit loan sites.
  • Negotiate loan terms and conditions.
  • Refer and recommend acceptance of financing requests to the Chief Credit Officer or Loan Committee.
  • Coordinate processing of approved loans, ensuring compliance with agreements, customer needs, and Bank policies.
  • Obtain sufficient information and/or documentation from customers.
  • Solve problems related to processing and servicing loans within the portfolio.
  • Maintain superior knowledge of financial industry status and trends.
  • Recommend products and services with unsatisfactory performance to senior management.
  • Represent the Bank in community and civic functions to enhance the Bank's image and develop business.
  • Assist the Bank in establishing and maintaining market position in the financing arena.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of related experience or similar field.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
  • Advanced knowledge in all facets of relationship management.
  • Advanced organizational and time management skills.
  • Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
  • May require up to 50% travel.

Salary/Compensations

  • Salary range for new hires is generally $159,745.00 - $197,331.00 for Chicago, IL.
