About the Role
This role reinforces practice skills, provides feedback based on pre-determined criteria/learning outcomes, and offers technical expertise for students in the Lab and Simulation setting to become proficient in skill performance and theoretical learning application as established by the School of Nursing. The Nursing Lab Specialist (NLS) supports learners by applying previously taught theoretical content to practical application and supports skills mastery through demonstration and feedback. The role also includes assessing student acquisition of skills using Faculty-developed performance checklists and rubrics within the lab setting. The role is required to prepare the lab environment by setting up materials and staying abreast of current and new resources for Faculty recommendation in lab courses.

- Stays abreast of current and new resources for Faculty recommendation in lab courses
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ recent experience in direct patient care in a variety of clinical care settings, including adult acute or long-term care.
- Must maintain registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) with no practice restrictions.
