About the Role
The Quality Engineer will optimize production processes, reduce waste, and increase efficiency, ensuring products comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. This role involves developing and conducting tests, analyzing data, and collaborating with teams to implement corrective actions and conduct audits.
Responsibilities
- Utilize Honeywell systems
- Apply APQP, FAIR's, and Net Inspect methodologies
- Ensure products meet quality standards and customer requirements
- Follow company's Quality Management System in accordance with industry standards (AS9100, ISO 9001)
- Conduct inspections and tests on raw materials and finished products
- Identify and resolve quality issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Communicate with suppliers regarding non-conforming issues and follow through with Root Cause / Corrective Actions
- Collaborate with APT Engineering and Suppliers to solve processing-related issues
- Manage customer RMRA submittals and closures
- Address and resolve quality concerns or complaints effectively
- Develop and implement quality control plans and procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product and manufacturing processes
- Educate and train employees on quality standards and procedures
- Mentor quality inspectors and manufacturing team members, providing guidance and training
- Maintain quality documentation and records
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and increase operational efficiency
- Utilize industry standard methodologies to drive continuous improvement
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred, or extensive relevant experience in quality engineering within the aerospace or manufacturing industry
- Strong knowledge of aerospace industry standards and regulations (e.g., AS9100)
- Proven experience driving process improvements and achieving quality objectives
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a team environment
- Basic mathematical arithmetic skills
- Experience with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) programming
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and data-driven decision-making preferred
