About the Role
The Senior Director, Global Analytics & Insights, Cell Therapy, will lead a program of insights and analysis for the Cell Therapy Enterprise, supporting priority assets from clinical development through commercialization. This role provides deep insights and strategic direction for enterprise-level initiatives and key commercial decisions, aiming to improve decision quality for assets and across disease areas by delivering high-quality market, customer, and competitor analytics.
Responsibilities
- Act as the Global Analytics & Insights point of contact for the Cell Therapy Enterprise, partnering with cross-functional leaders and priority markets to shape portfolio strategy, asset development plans, and long-range business planning.
- Build personal and institutional knowledge of key disease areas, including HCP and patient insights, market dynamics, competitive landscape, and implications on the AZ portfolio.
- Lead strategic projects across the cell therapy portfolio in partnership with Cell Therapy Enterprise leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Serve as a cell therapy insights expert, building capabilities, evidence, and market understanding to support clinical development plans, asset prioritization, indication strategy, and future commercialization.
- Develop deep therapy area knowledge bridging from clinical development through to commercialization.
- Uncover deep strategic understanding of patients, markets, collaborators, competitors, and brands to drive competitive advantage.
- Partner strategically with Global Commercial, R&D, Medical, Regulatory, Market Access, and Operations teams, bringing objective insights to key asset and portfolio decisions.
- Provide an independent view in decision-making bodies with an external perspective and a future-oriented focus.
- Integrate insights from clinical, market, customer, competitor, access, and treatment-delivery sources to inform target product profiles, development choices, indication sequencing, portfolio prioritization, and opportunity-focused forecasts.
- Develop objective quantitative analyses and business cases reflecting cell therapy-specific considerations.
- Manage relationships and budgets with external market research, forecasting, and data/analytics vendors and partners.
- Explore advanced analytics and predictive modeling suited to cell therapy unique delivery model.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in a Science or Mathematics Discipline and/or MBA
- Minimum 6 years of analytical and market research experience in the pharmaceutical/consulting industry
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with senior executive engagement and communication
- Experience in a similar strategy role within the pharmaceutical industry or life science consulting
- Ability to use data and analysis to affect, influence, or change the understanding of a market or customer.
