About the Role
Ellevation is seeking a Senior Product Manager for its Data Ingest team to build tooling that brings rostering, EL program, and assessment data into their platform. This role focuses on accurately ingesting imperfect raw data and representing it effectively, reimagining technically complex data pipelines while ensuring downstream customer workflows are powered. The position offers a significant impact on internal operations and customer workflows.
Responsibilities
- Build tooling to bring rostering, EL program, and assessment data into the platform.
- Reimagine technically complex, high-stakes data pipelines.
- Ensure ingested data effectively powers downstream customer workflows.
- Build an independent understanding of key challenges and business context within the first month.
- Establish high-trust relationships with the DevPro team, Data Operations, and cross-functional stakeholders within the first month.
- Understand Ellevation's product development approach, including Shape Up methodology, discovery, appetite, and scope within the first month.
- Develop expertise in the product’s extract/transform/load (ETL) architecture within three months.
- Troubleshoot product questions and use data to inform product perspectives within three months.
- Understand user needs and their business relevance within three months.
- Contribute to user research, data analysis, problem framing, and enablement efforts within three months.
- Build influential, high-trust relationships across the organization within three months.
- Take full accountability for product success from idea to launch within six months.
- Proactively drive product learning through user research, data analysis, and hypothesis testing within six months.
- Lead the team in working backwards from outcomes, raising risks and dependencies, and driving execution within six months.
- Drive go-to-market delivery, ensuring internal teams are trained and adopting releases within six months.
- Develop a clear point of view on opportunities in the owned problem space within six months.
- Contribute to shaping product pitches with leadership within six months.
- Build and sustain influence with senior stakeholders, evangelizing product bets, surfacing tradeoffs, and developing alignment within six months.
- Use expertise and context to drive the team forward, anticipate tradeoffs, and identify new opportunities for ingest investments within twelve months.
- Transform ambiguous problems in the data ingest domain into successful outcomes within twelve months.
- Influence and elevate others across the organization, collaborating to solve problems within twelve months.
Requirements
- 5-8 years relevant experience.
- At least 3 years in product management.
- Passionate about data and data workflows.
- Experience with ETL data pipelines, data mapping and transformation.
- Comfortable digging in to troubleshoot or understand how data flows affects downstream users.
- Demonstrated success leading highly technical ETL teams.
- Deep interest in how things work; ability to dig into technical concepts, explore systems impact, and weigh tradeoffs.
- Evidence-driven and curious; genuinely interested in understanding user and customer problems.
- Ability to leverage direct user discovery and run data analyses.
- AI-fluent; experience using AI tools for data analysis, prototyping, or documentation.
- Effective in cross-functional teams; works well with a wide variety of people.
- Experience leading and managing senior cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ability to articulate the “why” behind decisions.
- Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
