About the Role
AECOM is seeking a Senior Town Planner to join their national Town Planning team. This role offers a diverse workload and the opportunity to contribute to prestigious infrastructure projects in sectors like energy transition, rail, and water development. The position supports hybrid working and can be based in various AECOM offices across the UK.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the successful delivery of major development applications and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams.
- Coordinate project management and implement quality and health and safety principles.
- Provide planning advice on consent requirements and permitted development rights.
- Conduct planning research and analysis, and assist with feasibility reports and consent strategies.
- Write Planning Statements and Design and Access Statements for development applications.
- Lead, submit, and manage planning applications, including liaison and negotiation with local planning authorities and stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with the Environmental Impact Assessment team.
- Participate in internal and external meetings.
- Contribute to the preparation of successful commercial tenders.
Requirements
- Demonstrable and relevant experience of working on planning applications.
- Sound knowledge of English planning policy and legislation.
- Commercial awareness.
- Ability to write clearly and concisely.
- Client focus, with good interpersonal skills and a collaborative working approach.
- High level of commitment to quality.
- All newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.
