About the Role
Saint Joseph's Medical Center is seeking a full-time Patient Account Representative for the day shift (8 AM - 4 PM). This role involves reviewing bills, verifying insurance, processing claims, and resolving payment issues to ensure account accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Review bills to ensure demographic information and charges concur with patient and procedures performed.
- Verify insurance information and process claims with the appropriate carrier.
- Follow up with insurance carriers to resolve problems until payment is made.
- Ensure correctness of payment and facilitate adjustment of account balance.
- Review denials and contact insurance companies as necessary.
- Prepare refunds when applicable.
