About the Role
The Maintenance I (Custodian) is responsible for the general upkeep, sanitation, and minor maintenance of the facility, ensuring a clean, safe, and professional environment. This role involves daily janitorial tasks and grounds maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain all facility floors daily to ensure a safe environment.
- Routinely sanitize and scrub all washroom facilities to maintain high health standards.
- Empty wastebaskets and remove trash throughout the building.
- Vacuum, sweep, and dust all office areas.
- Maintain outside grounds by removing litter and assisting with snow or ice removal.
- Assist with moving equipment or office furniture.
- Monitor facility pest control devices.
- Accurately complete job-related checklists and maintenance forms.
- Adapt to changes in work assignments, schedules, or reporting relationships.
- Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
Requirements
- A hardworking individual dedicated to the general upkeep and sanitation of a professional facility.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including heavy sweeping, vacuuming, and moving furniture.
- High precision and attention to detail when following checklists.
- A dependable track record demonstrating a strong commitment to workplace safety and attendance.
- Willingness to work in various conditions, including outdoor grounds maintenance in changing weather.
- Steel-toed boots and other personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required.
Work Type
- Day Shift: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (Monday thru Friday)
Salary/Compensations
- $16.50 - $19.50 per hour
