About the Role
Christopher Community, Inc. (CCINC) seeks a Full Time Assistant Maintenance Superintendent to support the Mount St. James Apartments in Syracuse, NY. CCINC is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing affordable housing solutions across Upstate New York.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the physical building and grounds as a safe, sound, and attractive environment.
- Oversee all maintenance programs, staff, contractors, systems, equipment, and supplies.
- Address all maintenance needs in coordination with the Superintendent.
- Perform daily inspections and cleaning of interior and exterior common areas.
- Ensure efficient and timely response to assigned work requests.
- Provide painting services in vacant units and common areas.
- Fill in for other maintenance staff during extended absences.
- Be available for 24-hour on-call coverage for property emergencies, staying within a 30-minute driving range.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Must have previous experience in janitorial and building maintenance.
- Must be available for on-call coverage for property emergencies.
- Must stay within a 30-minute driving range when on call.
Skills
- Perform a wide variety of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, masonry, and general building maintenance and repair functions.
- Safely use and maintain various hand tools and power tools.
- Safely use and maintain equipment such as lawn mowers and snow blowers.

- $1,300 annual on-call stipend
