About the Role
The Senior Software Engineer designs, develops, modernizes, and supports enterprise applications critical to Colonial Pipeline business operations. This role involves hands-on software engineering, long-term ownership of production systems, new feature development, cloud modernization, operational support, and continuous improvement, shaping future-state architecture while ensuring application reliability and performance.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using Angular, .NET, and C#.
- Build and enhance Angular- and Blazor-based user interface components for enterprise applications.
- Develop and consume RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Design and implement solutions using Microsoft Azure services, including App Services, Microsoft Entra ID, and cloud-native architecture patterns.
- Help modernize legacy applications using cloud-native and other modern architecture patterns.
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code that follows software engineering best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with strong ownership and follow-through.
- Perform code reviews and contribute to overall engineering quality.
- Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, quality assurance professionals, and other engineers to deliver effective solutions.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and modern software development lifecycle practices.
- Provide production support, including participation in on-call rotations, incident response, root cause analysis, and preventive improvements.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership through design reviews, knowledge sharing, and engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Information Science.
- 7–9 years of professional software development experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting enterprise software applications.
- 4–6 years of demonstrated expertise in Angular or modern front-end development and C#/.NET development.
- 7–9 years of experience developing REST APIs, integrating front-end and back-end components, working with relational databases, and supporting business-critical production systems.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools to improve software delivery, code quality, troubleshooting, testing, documentation, and engineering productivity.
- Experience troubleshooting complex production issues and participating in operational support or on-call activities.
- Ability to lift 20 pounds from floor to waist.
