About the Role
The software engineer will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining software solutions for the Navy’s cybersecurity program office, supporting the implementation of a fully integrated architecture for maritime cybersecurity products.

- Consult with clients, engineers, security specialists, and other stakeholders.

- Serve as a key part of a mission to gain a deep understanding of adversary workings and develop unmatched knowledge.
- Collaborate with end-users and technical team members to identify software needs and requirements.
- Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that adheres to coding standards and best practices.
- Test and debug software applications to ensure optimal performance and functionality.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and software development trends to recommend improvements and upgrades to existing software applications.
- Develop and maintain software documentation, including user manuals and technical documentation.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of software projects to ensure successful delivery.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in software development and cybersecurity.
- Must be adept at problem solving, identifying risk, and communicating results and recommendations to the task lead and lab manager.
- Must comply with DoD 8570.01M IAT/IAM/IASAE Level II qualification and certification requirements.
- Must possess and maintain a Secret clearance; prefer a Top-Secret clearance.
Skills
- Web and software programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, etc.
- Building and deploying scalable, distributed applications.
- Serverless architecture and event-driven design.
- Cybersecurity principles, standards, and best practices.
- Programming languages, such as Java, Python, C++, or C#.
- Software development tools and methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall.
- Knowledge and understanding of serverless architecture and building/deployment of scalable and distributed applications.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Work independently and as part of a team.

- Experience with crypto and key management, network security, endpoint security, cyber analytics, cross domain solutions, and computer network defense.
