About the Role

The Maintenance Technician will support the campus facilities and operations, ensuring a clean and functional environment for students and staff. This role involves proactive problem-solving, equipment maintenance, and addressing facility needs with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Support and maintain the facility, building/grounds, and all equipment, including handyman repairs and painting/patching.
Coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs and obtain quotes for supervisor approval.
Oversee contractors as necessary.
Perform periodic cleaning of bathrooms and cafeteria areas.
Support school events by providing equipment and setup.
Monitor service visits for HVAC, elevator, fire systems, and other building systems.
Coordinate building key distribution and work with IT for swipe card access.
Maintain awareness of security concerns related to facilities and grounds.
Collaborate with the supervisor on long-term facilities planning and campus upkeep.
Assist in identifying CapEx requests, obtaining quotes, and prioritizing them.
Operate with resiliency and a positive attitude, reprioritizing tasks as needed.
Run facilities errands and assist at nearby campuses as needed (mileage reimbursement provided).
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Ability to develop and maintain order while documenting, filing, and coordinating tasks.
Attention to detail in project execution.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to take responsibility for work, establish trust, and be receptive to feedback.
Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
Proficiency in speaking, writing, and reading English.
Ability to travel by personal motor vehicle for errands and to assist other schools.
Must be able to travel monthly to an additional site in Georgetown, TX.
Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities.
Frequent walking and standing (over 50%).
Frequent bending, crawling, squatting, stooping, kneeling, twisting, rising, and reaching (over 50%).
Frequent speaking and listening (over 75%).
Regular use of computer keyboard and mouse (10-25%).
Frequent work on ladders and climbing stairs (25%).
Frequent carrying and lifting of 10-25 pounds; occasional carrying and lifting of 20-100 pounds.
