About the Role
Home Central is seeking a Paint Specialist for its Southern Tier locations. This in-store role focuses on assisting customers with their painting and finishing projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with selecting paints, stains, primers, finishes, and related supplies.
- Provide knowledgeable product recommendations based on customer projects.
- Mix and tint paint and assist with color matching.
- Prepare paint estimates and help customers determine the products and quantities they need.
- Work with contractor and pro-account customers.
- Process customer sales and transactions.
- Answer customer questions in person and over the phone.
- Maintain accurate paint department inventory.
- Stock shelves and keep products organized.
- Help order paint and related products.
- Keep the paint department clean, organized, and well-stocked.
- Load customer purchases when needed.
- Maintain a professional and helpful customer-service experience.
Requirements
- Previous paint, hardware, or retail experience preferred.
- Knowledge of paints, stains, finishes, and related products is a plus.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to learn product information and make appropriate recommendations.
- Ability to occasionally climb ladders.
- Ability to lift and handle paint, supplies, and other merchandise.
- Reliable, organized, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
