About the Role
The Account Executive/Sr. AE interacts with clients daily, building and maintaining relationships with clients and carrier representatives. This role may serve as the lead consultant and primary point of contact for assigned clients, servicing a generalist book of business with a significant Real Estate concentration.
Responsibilities
- Negotiates terms, conditions, coverage limits, and pricing with carriers and wholesalers.
- Collaborates with the Claims Department on relevant client claims.
- Prepares client proposals according to NFP standardization, reflecting accurate coverage terms, pricing, exposure basis, renewal comparisons, and marketing results.
- Highlights coverage gaps or differences to ensure the insured is aware of potential limitations.
- Ensures accurate information, such as updated exposures and driver details, to prevent E&O claims.
- Maintains a follow-up system to ensure timely receipt of policies, endorsements, and other required information.
- May supervise or direct the daily activities of Coordinators and Account Managers.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with carriers and clients through regular contact and visits.
- Keeps clients informed of relevant industry trends, events, and regulatory issues.
Requirements
- Typically, more than 5 years of Commercial Lines experience, including recent tenure with a retail insurance brokerage or independent agency.
- Experience managing a book of middle-market accounts (estimated revenue up to $1MM) is required.
- In-depth knowledge of insurance coverages and ability to communicate this knowledge clearly.
- Understanding of marketplace trends and best practices to meet client needs.
- Proven ability to prepare and analyze loss summaries to support renewals and client strategy.
- Strong negotiating skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience with EPIC or other CRM required.
