About the Role

The Precise C.N.C. Machining Institute (PCMI) is a 4-month PAID training program designed to equip you with the skills needed to start a career in CNC machining. Upon successful completion, students have the opportunity to continue their career with a job at Precise Tool & Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Combine classroom instruction with hands-on learning.
• Gain practical experience and functional knowledge required to launch careers in advanced manufacturing.
• Learn CNC machining basics.
• Learn blueprint reading.
• Learn machine shop math.
• Learn inspection techniques.
• Learn differentiation between metals.
• Learn about cutting tools and their proper use.

Requirements

• Enjoy working with their hands (e.g., taking equipment apart and putting back together, working on cars, carpentry, side jobs).
• Possess strong mathematical skills.
• Be mechanically inclined and curious about how things work.
• Be comfortable using computers and working with technology.
• Demonstrate excellent attendance and dependability.
• Have reliable transportation.
• High school tech classes and/or BOCES or vocational school classes are a plus.
