About the Role

You’re bold and culturally fluent, leading the development of game-changing brand strategies that spark audacious creative ideas and deliver meaningful business results. This is a pivotal role for a strategic leader who thrives at the intersection of culture, creativity, and commerce—and who can help brands show up in the world with relevance, resonance, and courage. You lead a multidisciplinary team of culture-obsessed strategists and makers, partnering closely with account, creative and PR leadership to shape work that challenges categories and creates fame.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the agency’s strategic product, ensuring all work begins with a strong, insight-led foundation that fuels bold, category-subverting ideas.
  • Foster a culture that obsesses over product, believing that strategy is the springboard to creativity that changes consumer behaviours.
  • Oversee development of creative strategy, campaign architectures, communications and connections plans that lead to innovative and provocative creative outcomes.
  • Push the thinking—challenging both clients and internal teams to go beyond the expected to deliver work that disrupts and drives attention.
  • Regular use of AI to drive efficiency and profitability throughout our strategy services and processes.
  • Inspire the internal agency team and clients with thought leadership around modern brand-building, cultural fluency, and the role of subversion.
  • Ensure that social work is rooted in digital behaviour and connects brands to online culture in ways that feel authentic and thumb-stopping.
  • Oversee the development of strategic creator and influencer-led strategies that fuel engagement, relevance, and shareability.
  • Help clients and teams understand how to make work that’s right for the internet—and impossible to ignore.
  • Provide mentorship and ongoing development, helping team members grow in strategic rigour and compelling storytelling.
  • Accountable for ongoing financial management, including project-level and department-level revenue vs expenses.
  • Contribute to the development of project SOWs, ensuring we’re properly valuing the role of strategy/social and allocating the correct time that’s required for the deliverables.
  • Ensure the right resources (freelance & full-time folks) are on the right deliverables while monitoring their time management to avoid overservicing or overinvestment in time.
  • Participate in new business development, owning the strategic product and actively participating in the creative development process.
  • Build relationships with senior clients to shape brand, marketing, and cultural strategies that unlock long-term growth.
  • Plan and host client workshops that unlock new creative opportunities and business initiatives with current and new clients.
  • Help clients understand and feel safe to embrace bold, category-disrupting creative work that gets noticed and drives results.
  • Lead the use of measurement frameworks that prove out the value of our work.
  • Lead our agency's awards strategy in partnership with creative leadership.
  • Own the execution of compelling, high-quality case submissions for creative and effectiveness award shows.
  • Work across teams to identify the right work and shape narratives that elevate our reputation and attract top talent and opportunities.
  • Identify thought leadership and speaking opportunities to build mint’s brand and reputation within the industry.
